Plant productivity and fitness involve nutritional element availability, resistance to increasing environmental constraints following in particular climate change and intensive used of chemical fertilizers. In order to counteract nutritional deficiency and other abiotic stresses, such as drought, salinity or heavy metals, plants have developed sophisticated tolerance mechanisms and pathways to alert, adapt and enhance growth under stresses conditions. Rhizosphere microbiome influenced by plant exudates have a positive impact and is a key component for an ecofriendly strategy to sustain agricultural land and improve field yield.  The understanding of plant response mechanisms to circumvent stresses and the molecular plant interactions with beneficial microbes will allow usage of biostimulation strategies to promote plant adaptions
